A VRLA battery contains gelled electrolyte (GEL) or absorbed in microporous material (AGM).

An AGM or GEL battery requires no maintenance. VRLA stands for Valve Regulated Lead Acid, which means the battery is sealed. Gas will escape through safety valves only in the event of an overload.

VRLA energy storage batteries have exceptional recovery capacity even after deep or prolonged discharge. It should be noted, however, that frequent deep or prolonged discharges have a detrimental influence on the lifespan of any lead/acid battery.
